Tuesday is deadline day so we work through lunch, eating a sandwich at our desks. The upside of this is we finish an
hour earlier than normal. This gives me the chance to collect our son from school and get home in time to walk the dog
before dinner. I appreciate getting home earlier especially now that the days are beginning to get shorter.
This evening we walked the dog up the road, past this cornfield. Dark grey clouds were beginning to gather, replacing the blue sky of the early afternoon.
I mark the passage of the seasons by this field. Soon the stubble will be burned off, the earth ploughed and new seed sown for next year's crop.
