High pressure zones give beautiful blue skies. In any season. A pity we can't get more of them in summer here :(
This beautiful blue sky is the reason for our current cold "snap", which after three weeks duration may no longer be called a "snap".
It's a bigger bite than a snap, and like our near neighbours in the UK,
we are suffering shortage of grit for roads, essential services are being stretched, and people are treading with more care.
Two of the adults in our family slipped on footpaths yesterday but were fortunately unharmed. I must think of this weather when I feel tempted to complain about our rain in future.
