On The Way To The Store That's Gone

There used to be a small grocery store about 1/2 a block up (in the white building on the left)...either my sister or I would run there nearly everyday.
The people that ran it were really nice people...but none of these stores could compete with the chains.
A lot of memories on a grey day

other sizes: small medium large original auto

I remember those little stores that might be "down the block" or "around the corner"...even in a big city like San Francisco in the 50's...they always had the sense of "neighborhood" great image, great memory

Looks like neighborhoods I used to live in.
The black and white must have cinched it for me.
I am so sad that the little stores are vanishing too.
