Bunch of folks who are into collecting, restoring and preserving Coleman's old Camping Products. ( Mostly Lanterns and Stoves) Coleman Sold The Compamy In 1988 and Most stuff made by them since is junk in our books. I have a coleman stove that is in a siver metal aluminium box like a suitcase. it is military 2 burner side by side with the tank below. each burner has its own cleaner and valve. I have aquired a old electric coleman coffee pot. I have not been able to find out much about it. It is a 3 gallon coffee pot. It has a glass dome on top that is 3 gallons. I have an old coleman 426A three burner coleman stove. Our scout troop just went on a winter snow camp and we used it after it sitting for at least 15 years. It worked great.
Can someone tell me how to properly store it. I keep it in the garage but I don't know weather to keep some fuel in it or empty it after each use.
Also is there a way to tell how old it is? It has a copper color tank.

I am glad to see that people are interested in restoring the Coleman lanerns and stoves.
A friend of mine in Michigan got my interested in these wonderful lanterns.He asked me if I could make him a tool to reach down into the gas tank to remove the check valve. I am a retired tool and die maker with some machinery in my shop in the back yard,so I made him one. I now sell them on Ebay if anyone is interested. Search:( Coleman lanern tool) It's the ONLY one there!

Recently aquired a 1965 military specs lantern ,dismantled ,in a box. In the process of reassembly I can't figure out how the globe cage is fastened to the tank. Looked on Old town Coleman Center for Diagram but none are available. Tha 252-A shown there is WWII vintage. There is a brass u shaped piece that fits between globe cage housing and tank and for the life of me I can't fathom how it fastens up.Would appreciate a copy of the diagram for this model if any are available or any assistance on assembly srquence.
