Some missions reported have populations of 3,000 native ( Like Lorato) when the first priest came in 1697. With in generation, only 300 remained. Smallpox and " Yaws" were big killers. Shown here is a healthy ( well healthy as far as dead can be!! ) and a skull from Yaws... Legends of the Baja are quite interesting and still is a rumor of the " Lost Mission's Treasure"....
