Lady Autumn

Every photo you see in my albums for the past several years is owed to this lovely Lady and her husband, Mark.

Lady Autumn was an amazing seamstress. I was always impressed by the beauty of her clothing at faire. There were seasons when I don't think she ever wore the same dress twice, and every one was gorgeous. But while her clothes were beautiful, they didn't compare to the Lady herself. She was always kind, concerned, and sweet. If I weren't at faire, the next time she saw me she would make sure that I hadn't missed because anything was wrong. I always felt comfortable when talking to her, as she was one of those people that you could not see for 10 months, and then pick up your conversation right where you left off without missing a beat.

One constant that I always took note of was her love for her husband. Even when she was teasing him, you could tell by the tone of her voice and the look on her face that the teasing came out of love. I remember one time when we were talking and I was asking where he was, and her reply was, "He'll be here in a while. You know how he is, he has two speeds: stop and slow." and then she laughed, and it was clear that while it may have annoyed her at times, it was part of him and thus part of her love for him.

Lady Autumn, I hope that you are enjoying the perfect day at Faire right now, in company with all of the others from our Faire Family that we have lost. Dance a little, laugh a lot, and wait for us there. We'll be along eventually, and then we can pick up that conversation again where we left off.
