~ STREET SIGN ~

Willow City, TX

With bullet holes included.
Many Texas backroads run through large ranches. Cattle roam on the open range, so the roads have cattle guards (grates in the road) that divide
the ranches and keep the cattle from leaving. Of course, you have to be careful not to run over the cattle that are often walking along the road.

Got to watch out.

Probably a good warning to have! Makes me wonder what they were shooting at??

We have similar here in our outback Lynn... add to cattle & goats the kangaroos & emus, one
never knows what is the other side of a road crest.

...and you might hope that these mad men are not on the road either (with bullets holes included)
with cattle one can always deal..
great shot Lynn

Oh, you'd know if you ran over one. :) Yep, they can hold up traffic sometimes but I always look at that as a photo op. :) Nice find, Lynn!

Yes I did, can you return them to me? Vµ

But the cows usually don't want to move out of the way

Nicely seen. We have "livestock at large" signs in those areas where cattle graze on Crown land.
Guest 16-Apr-2011 23:42
That would get your attention.

We had them for cattle. Nice one for Street Sign.

We have them for sheep and deer here but not cattle. A lovely rustic scene.

Great sign, especially with bullet holes. For some reason CT used to have holes in the signs, especially deer crossings. I have not seen holes in years. Either the hunters are more lawful or the state replaces them sooner!

I do like your sign!!

Home, home on the range,
Where the deer and the antelope play.
Where seldom is heard
A discouraging word,
And the skies are not cloudy all day.

Nice one. This is one of the reasons you shouldn't drive in Baja California at night. "V"

They can help but react to their animal instincts ;-)
