Panama Canal Transit April 27, 2012

Early in the morning, Jim woke me up so that I could watch us coming up to the Panama Canal - it wasn't as early as I had heard which I was happy about! It really is a feat by mankind, and the most amazing thing is the simplicity of it. We entered Gatun Locks at 7:05, transited through Gatun Lake and the canal, arriving at Pedro Miguel Locks at 12:28. During lunch we sat at the back of the main dining room, we had a great view while we were in the Miraflores Locks. At 4:00, we anchored in Balboa Bay, and while the ship bunkered fuel, we attended the Cruise Critic Wine Party, hosted by Patty and Dave in their suite. It was a lovely way to spend the afternoon!
