The male Satin Bowerbird makes the courting bower (it is the 2 rows of sticks towards the back of the photo) and displays to the female at mating time. To further impress, he collects as many blue objects as he can; bottle tops, Leggo blocks, drinking straws, pegs and even jewellery (there is a blue pearl necklace in the photo if you can spot it. (In the forground, in line with the rear of plastic bags directly to the rear of the very noticeable bottle top.). I saw this one further up the Blue Mountains and it is a fairly unusual find. It was in very dappled sunlight and I have manipulated the image to make it more visable.
