I can remember going to the 3d hops here as a child where there were long suffering older ladies trying to teach us to ballroom dance....sadly I had no talent for it and just considered it a social meeting place with friends.

Reads Garage must have been the forerunner of Sheppey Motors, which I believe was owned by the Standen family. Again I'm not certain but I think they introduced buses onto the Island.
