I grew up in Strood Kent. My Father and Grandfather had Butcher Shop in the High Street, would love to see a photo of their shop

What wonderful pictures. I grew up in Kent but have now been in the USA for 32 years. I still miss the beauty of the Kentish countryside and the history. Great job!

love the memories, used to live in goudhurst opposite the Vine pub, in the "white house" next to the post office. do you have any pictures of that? enjoyed some good nites in the vine.

Very impressed - lived in Benover for 20 yrs - and to see a photo of the house was a plus. I must say that of all the cards, jigsaws, place mats etc that it has appeared on, your photo of the Benover cottage (Burnt Oak is its name)is probably the most natural (if that is a photographic term).

Lovely album Trevor .. makes me remember the time we made many crossings (of the channel) to Kent and stayed in Sandhurst with friends of my wife's dad .. numerous trips we made there ... last year we went once, visiting Sevenoaks. I cannot resist the incredible charm of Kent cottages...here you have my vote! May I dare adding a little remark ? Maybe if you choose in alternative a little less conventional perspective to take pictures of these splendid subjects, you would get a more effective and original result, a little different from postcards or calendars. But I realize it’s simply a personal view, it’s me… Nice work and, definitely my vote. Marisa

Dear Trevor, I really enjoyed your gallery. It is often people like you that allow us uneducated Aussies to appreciate the various parts of England. I came across this site because I was surfing the web in relation to my family history research which includes the Kent names of SMITH of Pembury, WALTER of Goudhurst and SHOOBRIDGE of Wolvenden. Nice pics, that M2 is taking a while to do, and that rear ender was at some speed! I always like to look at the old hop houses.
