Shoshanna Moser's Gallery

All of these photographs were taken either in and around Gold Beach, Oregon, the village near which I live, or elsewhere along the roughly 80-mile stretch that makes up Oregon's beautiful south coast. The bear was photographed on my deck-- he spent the summer here-- and the deer was discovered one morning awakening from her night's rest in a small glen along my driveway. The raccoon is one of approximately 30 who come to the house daily to be fed. Stunning gallery. I particularly like the saturation in the clouds. Beautiful cloud formations are something we don't often get here in California. It is mostly sunny or overcast with coastal fog - but we'll suffer through. Thanks for sharing. - Richard

Hi Shoshanna, This is a beautiful area and a talented photographer! It's a great enjoyment to go through your gallery. I was at Oregon coast once for a few days, and was really impressed with the landscapes there. For sure I'll be back to the area, probably many more times in the years to come. I recently got a Cokin 120 Grey Graduated Filter and used it in my trip to California. The result is great improvements in my ocean view photos. Do you use any filter other than natural density ones while taking these photos? Do you think a polarizer filter on top of a natural density filter will be of any help in shooting ocean scenes? Each time I view your gallery, different images stand out as "favorite". Today I found the simple colors in Harris Beach and Reflections at Turtle Rock especially restful. Wonderful pictures. I too am curious about what kind of digital camera you use. Not that the camera can account for the artistry. But it's hard to believe any digital camera (except maybe an SLR digital) can achieve these effects!

I try to leave a comment in each of the WDP galleries from time to time as I visit. I select a favorite ans also offer a suggestion if I have something useful to say. I can do neither when I visit yours. All are perfect and therefore I have no favorites or suggestions - so I soak in the beauty and go away relaxed and inspired. Thank you for your gallery and providing this group so many can share in the photo/art experience. I know I have learned SOOOO much and am grateful to you. Vanita

For me the mark of an exciting, well composed and enticing gallery is the desire the images create within me to get on the next flight out of the UK to visit the area being photographed. All very nice photos, Shoshanna. I'm going to be heading down the Oregon coast (from Washington) next week, and hope I have just a fraction of your success with at least some part of it. But I doubt that I shall; that kind of portfolio has the stamp of frequency and familiarity to it. I hope you'll show us some photos of the dunes sometime, as I'd like to see what you've done with them. I especially liked Harris Beach -- that great double S curve -- and the bear -- I wouldn't like to see him on my deck, but it's not likely, as mine's 12 feet above the ground.

I live in Rosebutg, OR and so these fabulour photos are special and an inspiration for mt the next time I go to the coast!! What strikes me as special in many of them is how you make foregrounds such an important part of the image. You have some good examples of breaking the rule of thirds when sky and landscape are equally important! Colors are rich! I too will vote for this gallery! Carlene
