Port-Au-Prince

( I recently received a message from an irrate person saying that images like this are fake and that nothing like this exists in Haiti. I hope that nothing like this does exist there, but the image is not a fake. When I was there 9 or 10 years ago it certainly did exist. I really hope things have improved.)
I described what this gallery will be about in the gallery description itself.... There is no organized trash pick up or disposal in Haiti.... This is where a majority of the main city's trash ends up... If you can see through the rising steam, there's a person picking through the garbage with a stick... not a happy sight...

I just returned from Haiti two days ago. I was working in Port au Prince trying to secure their ports. The photo is not a fake. I passed where this photo was taken everyday and many more just like it. This shows a canal or drainage system. The street are almost as bad. I never seen anything like it.

We have so much we take for granted. This small country is so
near to us but so far away in terms of quality of life. I hope
your work there has carried on in the ways that you meant it to.

That's so sad ...
