Very pretty and they look great against the dark background.
Speaking as another Louisianian (moved from New Orleans about 7 years ago) these were erroneously called "buttercups" by everyone in the city. I knew the flower as a Mexican Evening Primrose (Oenothera berlandieri.)
Showy or Mexican, it's a great shot.

Here in Southern USA (Louisiana) this is a Showy Evening Primrose.
