Beyond the blue evaporation ponds the landscape continues to amaze, with red rock everywhere.
In a few spots one gets to drive on bare sandstone. Aside from my general state of supefaction
(not to be confused with putrefaction), I was fascinated with the way the rock layers tilted.
Before coming here I had imagined vast expanses of horizontal layers of sandstone; driving
through this land showed me that subterranean salt domes had deformed the orderly landscape.
