The perennial stream was flowing a little stronger than in the previous July, and there was evidence everywhere of recent flooding (note the debris and matted grass near me).
About a mile above this point the trail faded out; I continued about a quarter of mile beyond that point. On the way back to the trailhead I explored a side canyon that led to a plateau of bizarre rock formations.
True to form, my photographic assistant, Joe Tripod, just stood around.
