Amasa Back and Potash Road

Potash, Utah (near Moab)

Amasa Back is a "ridge" surrounded by a sharp bend of the Colorado River near Potash. Atop its
south end (at right) is a mountain bike trail that starts in the valley of Kane Creek. This shot
was taken from the minor grade crossing about half a mile north of the entrance to Intrepid Potash's
mining operation. The Colorado River is behind the vegetation, flowing from left to right.

Looks like a good place to run. Maybe that's why it's named Amasa.
