Early morning fog on the Colorado River at The Portal

Moab, Utah

This view looks about west from Highway 191 toward The Portal, the mouth of a canyon through which
the "foggy" Colorado River flows. The river lies between the yellow trees and the sun-lit cliff.

The sun-lit trees are in the Scott M. Matheson Wetlands Preserve, a property owned and managed
by The Nature Conservancy. Ironically, just across the river to the right (out of view) is a
huge tailings pile---covered with dirt---left over from decades of uranium processing.

Shortly after photographing the fog here, I did it again from a
different angle: http://www.pbase.com/listorama/image/71253331 .

Larry, "uranium" rhymes with "cranium," so maybe you have uncovered a connection.

That may explain, partly, all the meditating going on. Very nice photo, Dave.

Lee, all I know is that at night one can see the ground glowing.

Pretty scenery! Is that frost or Uranium dust on the ground and foliage?
