Out in the middle of nowhere

Floating Island, Utah view map

This is the summit of Floating Island, a small mountain at the northern end of the Bonneville Speedway in Utah.

My photographic aide-de-camp, Joe Tripod, was the highest tripod on Floating Island this day. He was also the only tripod present.

Nice photo. You must feed Joe a balanced diet.

Gee, he looks harmless enough. Why are the authorities suddenly nervous?

Lee: Gaiters keep debris out of my boots and socks.
John: When I first saw Floating Island I casually thought that it was "in the middle of nowhere" because of its remoteness. Later I did some research, which prompted me to fire up my solar-powered abacus for some calculations. Imagine my surprise when I discovered that the summit of Floating Island (just out of view to the left, at a frightening precipice) is exactly in The Middle of Nowhere. Accuracy is good to one ten-thousandth of a millimeter. Because I am not on the actual summit I am merely "extremely close to The Middle of Nowhere."
Chempilot: Screeville is a state of mind.

Would this be the exact middle of nowhere, or very close to the middle of nowhere.
Or even a little bit to the side of nowhere.

Looks like a great place to get away to! This is a perfect self portrait!! What do the ankle chaps do, snake bite prevention, cacti proofing?
