2006-04-13: My version of "The Color Purple"

Colorado River, below Shafer Trail, Utah

This photo documents the first time I have ever sat upon a low, purplish, sandstone boulder
shaped like a fin. Aren't you envious? My new Vasque boots are performing wonderfully on
their first trip, wallowing in the glory of being coated with orange sandstone dust. They
replaced boots that gave up the ghost in 2005. On my boot is the roll of white surveyor's
tape I used when marking my return route through the canyon cliffs.

Man, Dave. You really know what you're doing. That I am envious of. If I went there I would still be there.
