Limited service in this area

Just as the Postal Service has services of varying sophistication, so does PBase. Not everyone can
have fancy silverware. In this still-inhabited "ghost town" in Utah, PBase maintains a basic
but welcome presence for serving visual media to the public. This is considered an "outpost"
because of its distance from the rest of civilization. Communication infrastructure
here is limited: only surfing is possible. Residents who want to upload files
must travel to the next town to "make their mark in the world."

Apology accepted. Bus is stored at the nearest PBase facility, not here. Industrial art---maybe. I'm pleased to hear that you are only on the verge of being overwhelmed: going all the way is an unpleasant condition.

Dave, I apologize for the grumpy tone of my message. Especially since pbase, as usual, puts the customer first by offering the shuttle service, which I'm sure is parked behind the building. But what really made me feel foolish was the fact that on closer inspection, I saw that what I mistook for company vehicles is in fact a cutting-edge expression of industrial art. I am nearly overwhelmed (but not quite) by the deep commitment to customers and the innovative thinking displayed by the management team at pbase.

Steve, PBase anticipated the concern you have expressed: it operates a customer shuttle between here and the uploading facility in the next county. Three times a month, regardless of the weather, the bus pulls into this "community" to transport the subscribers who have images to upload. At the end of the five-minute uploading period, the bus returns the lucky people to the site pictured here.

On a less cheery note, I have to admit to a sense of disappointment with the tone of the comment below; it certainly could have been more positive, as is the one here:http://www.pbase.com/listorama/image/55931631 . These galleries are designed with "good news" in mind. We have no desire to immerse the readers/surfers in a sea of "bad vibes."

Good luck getting to the next town in one of these vehicles.
