UFO Antenna (3 of 4)

There has been a concern over the years that someone would realize that the dipole uniter (the thing that looks like a rusty pipe) would give the ruse away. Let me explain...

The area is subject to typical forms of rural vandalism: shooting at road signs is the main concern. Imagine one of those trigger-happy cretins standing in the railroad cut and sending a rifle bullet crashing into the "pipe." The impact would expose the idiot to something beyond the ability of humans to comprehend. If he were to survive the experience, he'd stagger back to his pick-up truck, drive home, and tell a fantastic tale about "opening a parallel universe or something." This would create curiosity, rumors, innuendo, fear, and panic. We don't want that.

To that end, the area was purchased by the government, fenced off, and marked with various warning signs. Security cameras monitor the perimeter at all times. The locals are told the installation has something to do with “homeland security.” No one questions that.

The light came innuendo (I'm still not sure of the spelling) and lit up the room.
