Track inspector checks something at Calada Siding

A northbound (railroad eastbound) track inspector has just pulled onto Calada Siding (middle track) to check something. About 20 minutes later a stack train went by in the same direction. The California-Nevada state line is less than a mile behind my vantage point. Note the large bird's nest on the power pole crosspiece.

The foreground track is a siding of the siding track. If anyone knows what such a track is called, I would appreciate being told what it is.

Nice one, Dave. I didn't know track types even had names.
