Five 737s approach Boeing's Renton plant

Renton, Washington view map

Two BNSF locomotives in Burlington Northern colors pull five 737 Next Generation fuselages past Lowe’s Hardware and Garden (at far right) as it approaches Boeing's Renton plant, where 737s are assembled.

The Lowe’s Hardware building is situated on land that used to be a parking lot for Boeing employees. The beige building in the diatnce is Frye’s Electronics, also built on a former Boeing parking lot. In the 1980s, Boeing had many more employees than it does now and needed parking space for zillions of cars.

I'd fly much more often if I could go by train.

Very interesting. So do train manufacturers get their parts by air freight?

(Dave, you weren't parking there to take this photo by any chance, were you?)

Everything changes, Dave. Nice photo. I don't know why but it reminds me of a caterpillar.
