I previously noticed on Google Earth that there is a wide area under water at the western seaboard of Sto. Tomas town, La Union.
This March 8th and 15th, I did a scouting run in that place and found out that good concrete roads lead into the middle of what turned out
to be many hectares of fishponds. It is a promising spot for water birds in flight, and I'll be back there soon for more BIF shots. :)

 HILLS OF PATAC. While waiting for water birds in flight in the middle of the vast fishponds of Sto. Tomas, La Union, I noticed that the late afternoon sun was bathing the hills of Barangay Patac in soft, golden light. I rotated my camera to portrait orientation, took 5 successive shots and assembled this later into a panorama. The hill in the foreground is about 3 km away, while the third one (farthest) is about 6 km from my position (thanks to Google Earth, such distances are now easy to establish). Shooting info - Sto.
