I had a flock of these birds in our crab apple tree eating their bellies full this early spring. I read that they get intoxicated by the fermented berries. They were so beautiful their colorings were very vivid.

Rich, they do migrate but they are also quite nomadic. I live in a general area where they reside throughout the year. I have never seen that many at one time even though I know that they stay in flocks.

I saw about 100 of these birds perched in some trees this morning. Do they migrate?
