We woke up this morning to bitter cold (for Cornwall), below zero temperatures and a light dusting of snow. OK, I know it’s hardly “cold” in comparison to say, Siberia, Canada or much of the rest of North America or dozens of other countries, but it’s cold for here and things are, as always, grinding to a bit of a halt.
In a rare diversion from normal events on a Saturday morning, we had to go out this morning. Interestingly there is no gritting of roads in these parts, other than the trunk routes across the county so when we set off, on roads with compacted snow and ice, we had a hard time.
We did make it to our destination, albeit by the skin of our teeth and by the time we came home, the temperature had risen enough to melt the snow and ice and make it easier to travel.
I shot this pic before setting off this morning and because of a pounding headache that’s been going on for two days now, it’s been my only shot of the day so here it is. Despite that, as with my red kidney bean shot of earlier in the week, I do quite like the shot although I don’t understand why the pot in the foreground has a huge handprint on it!
Last year, slinky!
