8th July 2007 - thanks a lot

Ooohh chocolates…..

I got given these chocolates by a chap who works with me (remotely – he’s based in our London office). I did him a favour – remember the Connect 4, well that shot was for something he was doing.

When I got to the office last week, there was a box waiting for me, which contained these – Hotel Chocolat chocolates – very swanky indeed. I was very chuffed to receive them, not so much because they’re chocolates but because someone actually appreciated something I’d done and in the largely unappreciated world of a corporate whore, I was thrilled that he’d had gone to the trouble.

My new friend is someone who I met in Sorrento earlier this year and I’ve sort of adopted him as my ‘son’ in as much as I’m trying very hard to make sure that he stops the tide of work, takes a breather and keeps his own sanity. He confided in me that he frequently catches the nightbus into the office, arriving before 5am to start his day’s work.

He’s just lost his girlfriend because she said he works too hard and has nothing left for her. It’s my mission to redress his work:life balance and try to prevent him making the mistakes I’ve made. I’m trying to make sure he ‘does as I say, not as I do!’

Anyway – the chocolates have been put to work as part of a chocoholic shoot – it’s my mission in life to up the ante in terms of chocolate pics…….

Now, where did I put that box?

Talking of boxes - I was loving the Beeb last year!

Work to live, not the opposite is my motto.
(What the chuff is Rob on about?)

I believe the graveyards are full of people who regret not putting in more hours at work!! LOL

I'm strictly an 85% Cocoa fan now, so I'll pass thanks!

Balance is important, including chocolates.

I do love that curious dialect of English you use...

According to my dictionary, "to chuff" is to fart, but "to be chuffed" means to be happy with life. Supposedly one shouldn't confuse the two, but I don't see them as being mutually exclusive!
