24th June 2007 - one little thing

….in a day of drudgery to feel happy about.

It’s baby broad beans, mange tout and basil from the garden waiting to go into a stir fry.

I’ve spent the entire day painting or waiting for paint to dry – three coats of emulsion on the sitting room walls, topped and tailed with a couple of visits to Focus (DIY shed) to get paint rollers and then later more paint – lesson – plan ahead.

It looks great but my hands are like claws and my temper frayed.

DM is still sick, though he’s now recovered enough to be lying on the bed playing ‘come as you are’ on his Yammy acoustic. How I love that man!

I’ve finished the work, did my pic and then lay on the sofa while we watched a wonderful lady belt out a number of classics – Dusty Springfield. What a woman, what a performer. The house came down in Son of a Preacher Man. It was at the Royal Albert Hall, where I famously saw lots of bands, and one that I didn’t see, just their shadows and dry ice – yep – Sisters of Mercy – what a night!

Oh and this is of course living proof of drudgery - two nights in a row you get to see what we've eaten!

Last year's shot was sexy and extremely unexpected......

You've bean and gone and done it, again. A nice shot from an unpromising subject.

Delicious produce - and well captured. (Dusty was magic!)

Linda...very well captured and composed... I like how you captured the wetness. Yep, it's off to the farmer's market for me.
