4th March 2007 - insignificant significance!

I have been ‘sitting on ‘ this shot for a week. It’s proof that after enough of a nagging and me taking every opportunity to voice my disapproval of DMs lack of ‘finishing power’ and get the bloody fire working, he has been and gone and done it! Things have finally moved on from here!

You may not realise it but the most significant thing in the shot looks like the least significant – it’s the little red speck, almost dead centre of the shot – the glow of a flame in the stove.

Last weekend, to much delight, he finally fitted the register plate and chimney and we were able to have a fire in the newly opened fireplace. Hurrah hurrah hurrah.

Now we have a bathroom that’s warm from the captured heat (which is really a side-effect – there is a back boiler heating water for the house and the radiator in the bathroom is its overflow) It’s extremely cool (hot) because it means that when we go to bed, the bathroom stays warm for most of the night and so when we get up in the night we don’t get cold! It also means that instead of the energy we use heating the room alone, it heats our water and therefore saves us oil bills.

In fact, for the first week we had it going, we’d not spent any cash on fuel because we’d been burning more of Mad Maureen’s old tat.

Arch and Rosie sneaked into the shot, though Arch is easier to see. There are also several of Rosie’s balls tucked along the back of the sofa, from a number of ‘game overs’…..that’s the instruction that we’re not going to play with her any more.

On the table is a bottle of wine, bought in a weak moment, that we’ll have with our supper. There is also a Spurs Supporters Club flag that was being waved frantically after 93 minutes of footie where we were behind for much of the game (sorry Colin – forgive me for my sins). A guitar rests on the other sofa. The brass candle holder hanging from the ceiling is a gift from Claz, though it’s not lit at the moment. Little Miss Sunshine is on the side……

The black lines down the wall are channelling for electric cables.
All-in-all, it’s a revolting space but it is improved lots by being full of our ‘stuff’ and now improved again by the fire going.

Last year, a lensbaby shot of some pasta.

Happiness is...a warm vest from the airing cupboard.
(It is for old geezers like me)
Have you got an airing cupboard?
Have you got a vest?
Am I p***ed?
Vest photographs would be appreciated.

Yes, don't ever moan to me about suffering the emotional rollercoaster that being a Spurs fan entails, cos being a Hammer is just........

Wow. What a difference. You perhaps don't notice it as much because it's gradual to you. I'm impressed.
