22nd February 2007 - aaaaaahhhhhhhhhh

Those of you who’ve been looking at my diary for a while will recognise Ginny and Ewan – these two are my good buddies from work, even though Ewan disappeared off to work for a competitor this time last year (hisssssssssss, boooooooooooo).

The three of us had a night out in Slutton (known by the Ordinance Survey as Sutton, but colloquially known in our team as Slutton because of the shenanigans that go on there on a Friday night)! In fact, in one of daft conversations you have in the office from time to time, I once said to Ewan something along the lines of (and I doubt I’ll be Mrs Popular for this but as I’ve said before, everyone has their own opinion and this is mine) ‘I can’t bear to see women breastfeeding, why anyone would want to get their tits out in public is beyond me’……and his response was ‘oh well you’d better not go to Sutton on a Friday night then, it’s common practice there’ (and I don’t think he meant there were any babies in sight either). So, now every 'earth mother' in the country, or indeed the world hates me.

When Ewan came to spend a night here early last year, both he and his brother were single and they were planning to buy a house together. Now, his brother is engaged!

Anyway, I digress – Ewan is now off to further pastures than a market research agency in Oxford – he’s off to the other side of the world (Australia) in fact, to be with his Great Love, Cassie. She’s already gone over there herself and he’s off to join her asap. His ‘Batman’ to her ‘Catwoman’ were featured in my diary late last year but I was not allowed to identify them then because of some deeply unpleasant things going on at work so they didn’t want anyone to know. I am utterly thrilled that they are so clearly in lurve and happy together because (and I hope he doesn’t mind me sharing this with you all now), he was ‘Mr Walnut’ of 2004. Cass went through a terrible time in 2005 and now they are both happy. Cool bananas.

So, Ginny and I went to have a meal and a few drinkies with him to say ‘Bon Voyage’!

Ewan – we love you and wish you safe travels.

Last year, poor hapless Sparkie was waiting for a new life!

I agree with Susie on this one...

I realise you might say that you would think they should hide away to feed their child...but that seems really unfair.

Wow, I'm just really surprised on that comment from you, of all people, who really seems to appreciate home grown veggies, and eggs...so why not mother's milk?

This coming from a childless person, as you know.

You are entitled to your opinion but I would think you would be happy to see someone feeding their child naturally as opposed to something store bought and factory made. I am not being critical, I am just surprised as I think of you as an all natural all the time kind of person. :)

Very sweet shot. Almost as if we are peeking into a hidden moment of bliss. Nicely done.
