well, what’s a girl who doesn’t like fruit to do with all those grapes – sit and watch them go mouldy? No, crush ‘em and drink ‘em I say!!! Not really – I just liked the idea of this shot and I love my wine so that’s why it’s here. Lots of grapes were fatally wounded during the making of this photo – they’re now flavouring tomorrow’s eggs as the hens have eaten them.
Actually I feel a bit crushed today – not because of anything nasty happening, just the oppressive heat here in deepest Berkshire and being sat in front of my PC all day writing about schizophrenia – a very distressing subject as at least one of my PBASE friends knows - Melanie has a brother with this terrible illness.
It’s so hot here we’re melting and that’s even after a torrid thunderstorm with lightening forks lighting up a very dark sky for an hour or more, coupled with torrential rain. Still at least it provided me with a bit of ‘light relief’ from the gloom of my subject matter today.
When I’m at home working I see all sorts of strange things that I don’t normally see….including some mad dog behaviour and David’s little routines that I don’t usually see. Good job I was here today though, David was still in his dressing gown at 9am when the man came to service the burglar alarm….he ended up shut in our bedroom for an hour while the man tested all the sensors and serviced the unit. DM had completely forgotten he’d arranged it!
I escaped at lunchtime for an hour to get a swim in and thought I was going to melt into nothing in the car. Shame I didn’t melt a bit more than I did……
Taking this photo has made me realise just how much my feet look in need of a bit of TLC !
So, now I’m off to open a bottle of fermented grape juice and try to find a way of cooling off.
