5th August 2004 - grapes?.....or future wine?

well, what’s a girl who doesn’t like fruit to do with all those grapes – sit and watch them go mouldy? No, crush ‘em and drink ‘em I say!!! Not really – I just liked the idea of this shot and I love my wine so that’s why it’s here. Lots of grapes were fatally wounded during the making of this photo – they’re now flavouring tomorrow’s eggs as the hens have eaten them.

Actually I feel a bit crushed today – not because of anything nasty happening, just the oppressive heat here in deepest Berkshire and being sat in front of my PC all day writing about schizophrenia – a very distressing subject as at least one of my PBASE friends knows - Melanie has a brother with this terrible illness.

It’s so hot here we’re melting and that’s even after a torrid thunderstorm with lightening forks lighting up a very dark sky for an hour or more, coupled with torrential rain. Still at least it provided me with a bit of ‘light relief’ from the gloom of my subject matter today.

When I’m at home working I see all sorts of strange things that I don’t normally see….including some mad dog behaviour and David’s little routines that I don’t usually see. Good job I was here today though, David was still in his dressing gown at 9am when the man came to service the burglar alarm….he ended up shut in our bedroom for an hour while the man tested all the sensors and serviced the unit. DM had completely forgotten he’d arranged it!

I escaped at lunchtime for an hour to get a swim in and thought I was going to melt into nothing in the car. Shame I didn’t melt a bit more than I did……

Taking this photo has made me realise just how much my feet look in need of a bit of TLC !

So, now I’m off to open a bottle of fermented grape juice and try to find a way of cooling off.

Usually bugs end up in there as well, so bug juice is a part of the experience, nice shot! Keep on squishing!

Very prehensile.

now that'll be fresh wine! :-)
It has been super hot here until today, a strong cold front came in from
the north last night, first night w/o AC in a few weeks. Hope you get blast
soon too. Hey, the remnants of Hurricane Alex are heading your way, that might
be all the storms you are getting.
Let me know when this vintage is ready :-)

Those tootsies could do with a bit of 'After Tango' foot balm from Lush!

Nice shot. I think the grapes are a bit reminiscent of those toes...

What's going on, global warming? I thought the UK was always either moderate, cool, or frigid (the weather, not the people, of course; they're warm or hot). Must have been fun shooting this - long stick to trip shutter of camera on the ground? Or maybe major contortions to get foot up to grapes on your table? In any event, glad you fed the grapes to the chickens. Hmmm - wine-embued eggs. Reminds me of a similar nude that I shot a month or so ago: http://www.pbase.com/image/32222478 .

Would it be better with footsie moved to left a little? Thanks for not stepping harder and making us look at grapes squooshing up between your toes.

I love my wine too Linda..only sweet white though, as I'm a bit of a sissy.
I come orginally from Ohio where the weather in the summer is opressively humid. Talk about melting! Now here in the uppermost part of Michigan, we have 3 days of humidity - maybe. Right now it's changed cooler and is sunny and beautiful, but 64 degrees (if that) and windy as hell. I don't envy you the weather.. well, maybe the winters..lol
