27th January 2004 - My current best friend

Cough, cough and cough again!

When I lie down I cough….and my chest creaks like a door in an ancient black and white horror movie.

When I sit up I cough, but at least my wheezing is a bit better.

I’m all out of puff, taking this pic is the only physical thing I’ve done today over and above getting dressed. It took me ¾ hour to get upstairs to fetch the camera and tripod and set up my shot, with long bouts of sitting on the floor catching my breath in between little flurries of activity.

My life has, at the release of a little virus particle, changed from its normal tearing around style, with never a moment to sit down, into the life of someone who doesn’t move.

But I know it's only a virus and I know I will get better in a few days. I know too that my lot is a very fortunate one so I’m not feeling too sorry for myself….but I just hate this feeling of inactivity.

So, a continuing theme from yesterday, Vaporub is my best friend with Lemsip close behind. Oh and Ian – the goose grease? I couldn’t persuade him to rub that in either – he complained it wasn’t vegetarian!

Hopefully normal service will resume soon!

Poor thing! I hope you are feeling better soon. You must have spread your germs down the phone line... James has got a cold, and I have never seen so much snot come out of a person's nose in one go... EVER! His head must have been jam packed! Sorry for the gorey details, but if I have to put up with it I have to share it with you!!!

Stay in bed, tuck up and prepare to take some A1 shots of the iminent snow from your bedroom window... get that tripod poised, and you'll be able to get a great PaD with minimum effort!!! Me? I can't wait to go 'binbagging' down the hill at the end of the road (I don't have a taboggan so I have to make do!)... if I make it I'll take some shots to show you!!!

Take care... Lotsaluv, Jan XX
