Hurrah! Spring is coming....

It's quite possible this daffodil may well regret popping up through the soil too early but how much I admire its sheer zest for life! It's not yet the end of December and it's up already - normally I'd expect to see my first ones in the garden popping up at the end of January. I'm so excited I could jump up and down and sing.

I was poking around in the garden looking for new subjects to photograph for my December garden gallery and I just spotted it in the shelter of a beautiful red carex that I planted in the autumn. There are a few bluebells starting to emerge and the honesty is getting its second set of leaves and these things all thrill me. It's the beginning of longer days and the first signs that spring is coming. Where is that Beat Greatest Hits CD - I feel a good old-fashioned dance coming on!

Christmas is well and truly over now - excellent.

Great exposure on this! Do you have one of those little short tripods too?

Good to see that Spring is not too far away. I've noticed the daffs pushing past the flagging pansys in our tubs too, I'd had my eye on them as a prospective PotD but you've beaten me to it! Great photo, I can almost smell that damp mulch!!
