the fast train from misery

David and I have come down to earth with a bump today after the best Christmas we've ever had....well for me anyway(!)....we went to White Hart Lane to see the Spurs and we got beaten again!

We were so unlucky though - we had all the possession and most of the chances. They just made their one chance count and we were unable to do that ourselves. The moaners in the crowd were all around us - we took one man to task for his moaning by telling him if he thought he could do better than Pleat then why not apply for the job himself. Now as you may have guessed, I'm no lover of Pleat (his kerb crawling convictions make the man very difficult to like) but I don't believe for one moment that any of the so-called 'fans' who deride the team and the management could do any better. We all need to get behind the team and encourage rather than jeer - that way their confidence in front of goal may return.

Sarah - we had a guy playing called Johnny Jackson who was good - really good - and very, very committed. I don't know where he came from - he's not even mentioned on the Spurs website??!!

On top of the moaning of much of the crowd, it was cold. Bitterly cold. We both looked like Michelin men (well, me moreso than David of course) in our layers of clothes and both looked incredibly silly in our hats but we didn't care. Better that than frostbite of the ears!

Anyway, home in the warm now, we have the evening in front of the fire ahead of us and somehow being out on a dismal mission like today's footie seems to make that even more of a treat!

Great interpretation of speed. Like your other comments I like both shots. How do you manage to keep the cameras steady in the cold !

I love both interpretations. How fun to do this project together. Too bad I won't share my camera...If I get a new one, maybe I'll let Tony play.

Woah! This is brillo too! (Just left wow comments on David's shot then clicked to see your pix). Fantastic capture of speed and perspective, I need to look away to slow down!

I like both train pictures. Although I think I like this one just a bit more.. all the focus is on the train.

Although David's picture has the added feature of the two men at the station..

So I guess it's a tie. :) Sorry the Spurs lost.
