We were invited to lunch today with good friends (and ex-boss) Christine and John. To work up an appetite for lunch we walked from their house in Holmwood to Coldharbour to a wonderful little pub that brews its own beer (very good beer too) and back via a different route. The day was eventful to say the least - we came across an accident almost immediately on leaving their house where a young girl on roller blades had been hit by a Range Rover - not nice at all.

Later, on the way back, we crossed a farmyard being watched by these young cows. This one appealed to me - something about the eyes. In fact the very reason why I became a vegetarian in 1979. Shame it'll probably end up being served up as steak au poivre somewhere.

Christine and John, many thanks for a fantastic day out. We spent the journey home planning our new bird feeders!
