This is a bit of a “lie” shot because I look really jolly although I’m feeling a bit blue…..

The uke is my pressie from DM because I showed an interest and learned a few chords the other day. He taught me to tune it today and I practiced my chords but then had a mishap because (long story), I’ve sliced the tip of my finger so badly it won’t stop bleeding. Each time I manage to stem the flow, I try to use my hand and it goes again. Blood everywhere.

I’m thinking more of a Ramones-style rather than a Jilted John when I say 1-2-3-4 by the way. Yes, I can see myself picking up the mantle of the Ramones – a sort of weird tribute. I already have the jacket – exactly the same as they all wore, all I need is the drainpipes and some Converse all-stars and I’ll be away.

Let’s face it, Ramones gigs were always chaotic – I can do chaos. They frequently all started to play different numbers then had to re-start so they were all playing the same thing – I can do that. They were, despite that, one of the best bands around in the 70s/early 80s and I loved them. Maybe one day someone will think the same about me? Oh OK – perhaps not……

Ah well, perhaps I’ll just dream of a day gone by at the Lyceum or the Hammy Palais or wherever. I’ll just have to rely on my memories.
