This gallery is about Limerick-man Sean McGowan's successful attempt to become the first Irish person to row the Atlantic solo.
The race began in San Sebastian de la Gomera in the Canaries on Monday 4-Jan-2010 at 13:30.
The final destination was English Harbour, Antigua ... 2,548 nautical miles away in the Windward Isles.
It was estimated that the crossing would take 100+ days.
On day 118 (2-May-2010) Sean arrived safe and sound, but 21 Kg lighter, in English Harbour, Antigua - to a large and boisterous reception.
