Ghost Horses from the Bog 1

Nurney Roundabout, off M7, Kildare Town, Co. Kildare

The sculptures of four horses made from bog oak are the work of artist Lynn Kirkham.
The title of the work is 'Ghost Horses from the Bog'.
The bog oak was sourced from the Bog of Allen and the horses were constructed by Lynn at her workshop on Bere Island in Co Cork.
The four horses represent different stages of a horses gallop.
The theme of horses was chosen for the roundabout because of Kildare Towns association with horse breeding and also the location of the National Stud close to the town.
The work was completed in June-2013.

Lynn Kirkham is obviously very talented to construct these sculptures particularly to fit the theme interesting and unusual capture. This one really does look as if he is galloping across the field of flowers.V
