Umbrella Shakedown

Listowel, Co. Kerry

The kids stand in the river and call to the race-going passers-by, on the bridge above, to throw down some coins and in return they'll wish them good luck at the races. The umbrellas are to help catch the coins.
Given the number of kids in the river at any one time it appears to be a lucrative venture. I don't know if it has any influence on the outcome of the races.

I understand that the umbrella is upside down, as water on the floor...
But a problem with the law of gravity...
