Yeah I know it's not Nashville related....but it's home and that's all that matters. This is where I started watching planes as a young child during the summer. Muhlenberg County Airport in Greenville, KY. A small, nimble Piper sets on the ramp in the descending sunshine after a summer storm. This is where I was amazed, and this is where I was inspired.
The airport doesn't see much traffic, as you can see. But it has it's moments. The US Army and the US Air Force has used it countless times for training and landing of aircraft, mainly helicopters and small planes. The runway was recently extended making it now 5000 x 75 ft. It can accomodate small Lear Jets and Embraer jets, but primarily sees traffic in the form of Piper and Cessena single engine planes. It does have an observation area for aircraft landing and takeoff viewing.
