I was born and raised in Toronto. I've always had great respect for the Toronto Humane Society and the work they do.
In March of this year, while visiting my mother, I took a trip down to the THS River Street facility. My request to photograph some of the dogs was met with suspicious glances and initial refusal. I couldn't figure that out at the time but understand why today. Ian McConachie kindly showed me around one of the kennels. I didn't upload any of my photos to pbase until today - the lighting in the pound was poor, the dogs were very agitated and I wasn't that thrilled with the few shots I did get. Before I left, I made a donation to the THS. Who knows where that money went...
I sincerely hope the few dogs I did see went to good homes and are now leading happy lives.
