Hey Lisa, Do you remember the sock hops that went on there? They brought in some really good bands. There was a lot of thing for youth to attend.
The best outdoor market in WNY ! Open Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays when weather conditions allow. It has expanded in size and variety of goods sold...all for the better. New venders always coming and shoppers overflowing the area. Fresh from the farm produce and so much more. NT has a lot to of proud of and this is a fine example.
remember going there to pick a pumpkin for halloween, i was so excited that i had my very own orange round thing. then we took it home and mom stuck a knife in it to cut a hole in the top for the start of the jack-o-lantern and i started to cry. she cooked up the seeds and everything was all better. sawa kid i knew from school and he was carrying a chicken upside down and it was still squawking. kid couldn't speak english....oct.10th 1962
Wow... maybe it was in the 50's. Don't remember what year they stopped it.
Yes I do... Skated there all the time, in the 60's. They should have kept it going. A lot of memories were made there.
DOES ANYBODY REMEMBER WHEN THEY USED TO FREEZE THE FARMERS MARKET FOR ICE SKATING.......BACK IN THE 50'S ?????
