Guinness book of records for Oliver Street bars was a myth, North Tonawanda did at one time have more bars per capita than any other city in New York State. It is presumed this was exaggerated into the guinness myth.

do you know that Oliver street made the genius world record for more bars on one stretch of road, not much to be proud of , but not sure eveyone new this, or even cares lol

This one really nails it. In about 1966, I counted 65 places to buy liquor on the 2 miles of Oliver St.
