PURPOSE OF THE PRESERVE

To protect, preserve, restore and enjoy birds and other wildlife that inhabit this property.
To create and awareness and appreciation of this native habitat and its living resources.
To provide educational opportunities in Lee County, Alabama and its surrounding areas.

Directions to the Preserve:
From the interesection of US 280 and CR 97, Grand National Parkway, travel east on US 280, 0.6 miles
and turn left onto Waverly Parkway. Travel 0.5 miles to entrance of park on left. Driveway entrance is
between two section of split rail fence; continue on Waverly Parkway another 0.1 miles to the roadway entrance.

Tomorrow, March 25, 2017, FRIENDS OF OWDHP&SNP will host bird walks starting at 8:00 followed by a presentation on hummingbirds by Fred Bassett at 10:00.

It would be helpful to add the address of the Wood Duck Preserve to the website so folks can find it more easily! So glad this place is here! It would be great to work on getting rid of the non-native invasive plants so more nutritious, native plants for waterfowl can have a chance to grow and provide food and habitat! Thanks.
