I was trying to figure out the name of the red jumping spider for the longest time. I figured it had to be something more compicated than that. Your gallery really helped, and your photography is extraordinary!
Thanks, Rachel, for your nice comments. Glad to hear the gallery is helpful.

Wonderful page for the ill-educated spider fan- good pictures that show nice detail. I’m afraid I know more about tarantulas than common spiders, but of the pictures I looked through, all of them were correctly identified, to my knowledge.
Here in Texas, there are these black jumping spiders I've seen around my house (the large male frequents the front poarch and I talk to him in the mornings so I see them often enough to get pictures) who have three white markings on their backs that form a distinctive smiley face pattern. Do you know anything about this?
I once even found an egg sac that contained a female's (who I don't see any more) babies and all of the black jumping spiders had white smiley faces on their backs too!
Brilliant, beautiful little things. . . they are the one spider that is the most interested in humans; did you know that? I also greatly love the pictures of the ones looking at the viewer- ridiculously cute! :3
