New York and Canada Day Trip

Burlington, VT was about a 45-minute drive from our resort. Burlington sits along the shores of Lake Champlain, which is the 6th largest lake in the U.S. From about Burlington, heading North, Lake Champlain has a string of four islands (connected by bridges). We drove up thru them and then at the top one headed West into upper state N.Y. A few miles across the N.Y. state line a sign indicated Canada was only 1 mile away. We took it and were granted access into Canada (using only our driver's licenses for ID). We enjoyed dinner there and then made a 1.5-hour ride home.
