Mingo Falls appealed to me because it said it was only .4-mile to get to. However, when we got to the parking lot we saw a HUGE stair case we needed to climb, then found out once up that flight of stairs there was a gentle turn and then another length of stairs the same amount. Once you climb ALL those stairs, you discover that you still need to go a further short distance on the trail, at a slight elevation, before getting to the Falls which was WORTH the total 5 minutes to get there, one way! What I didn't understand was that soon after getting to the top of the stairs there was a park bench alongside the trail, yet not within view of the falls, yet once you got to the Falls there was no where to sit and ENJOY the falls or near the waterfall overlook bridge itself! I counted the steps on the way back down to the parking lot and there were 160 stair steps to go in each direction!
