By Camera

Photos organized by the camera used to take them. Only currently owned models shown here, "past" models are shown under "past." Also, this link shows off some Nikons, my favorite brand, and this one has much information & articles on various Nikon dSLRs.

We currently own the:

  • Nikon D200, the "top drawer" camera in our toolbox. 10mp d-SLR, great viewfinder, tough pro build, only paid $580 for it in March 2009, upgrading over the previous "top drawer," the D80, almost exactly a year later.

  • Nikon D40, our "every-day" SLR, a 6mp d-SLR capable of pro-level shots, and yet the files being 6mp instead of 10mp are smaller. I have the Nikon 18-55mm and Nikon 50mm 1.8 lenses, a Vivitar 283 flash, and 6 Gb worth of memory cards. (June 2007, $450 for body w/18-55mm lens). This model was meant to backup my D50, ultimately it replaced it, and it's now the "everyday" camera as d-SLRs go.

  • Sony Cybershot DSC-H2, our "everyday" camera, a 6mp 12x zoom P/S with 640x480 30 fps MPEG1 movies limited only by card size (if the memory stick is a "pro" card), 2½" LCD, 2 AA battery usage, and very quick operation. We have a 4G and 2G Meg Memory Stick Duo cards. (July 2007, $85 w/512 Memory Stick card.)
